What is IQOS Hub in English for?
It is the English section of an information site about IQOS. It answers the questions foreign visitors actually search for, such as whether IQOS is allowed in Thailand, how to fly with a device, and what TEREA sticks are. It does not offer products of any kind, and it links to official sources so readers can check each point themselves.
The Thai-language site is larger and covers more topics. The English pages are written separately for people arriving from abroad, so they are not word-for-word translations. Legal questions sit in the legal section.
Pages are grouped the same way as on the Thai site: legal questions, TEREA sticks, devices and practical guides. Where an English page has a Thai counterpart, the language button at the top switches between them.

Is IQOS legal for visitors to Thailand?
No. The UK government's Thailand travel advice says it is illegal to possess or use any vape, e-cigarette or heat-not-burn device in Thailand, with no exceptions for tourists or for personal use. IQOS is a heat-not-burn device. Our dedicated pages walk through the legal instruments and the penalties quoted by official travel advice.
Read IQOS in Thailand for a visitor overview and Is IQOS legal in Thailand? for the legal texts themselves.

What happens with IQOS on flights and at the Thai border checkpoint?
Two separate sets of rules apply. Aviation rules say battery-powered smoking devices travel in carry-on bags, never in checked baggage, and must not be charged on board. Thai law then decides whether the device may enter the country at all, and official advice says it may not.
We cover the aircraft side in flying with IQOS and the arrival side in bringing IQOS into Thailand. Rules for onward trips to Singapore, Hong Kong and other places are in IQOS rules in other countries.

Do the rules change between Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya and Chiang Mai?
No. The ban on heat-not-burn devices is national, so it applies in every province. What does vary for visitors is the setting: beaches, airports and public places each have their own smoking restrictions. We summarise the official points by destination on one page.
See IQOS rules by city for Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui, including the beach smoking ban mentioned in Canadian travel advice.
Visitors often hear that enforcement is relaxed in resort areas. Official advice does not say that, and we do not repeat claims we cannot source.

What are TEREA sticks and how are they different from HEETS?
TEREA are the tobacco sticks made for IQOS ILUMA devices, which heat the stick from inside by induction. HEETS were made for older IQOS devices that use a heating blade. The two are not interchangeable, and the manufacturer warns against using TEREA in bladed devices.
Start with the TEREA section, then read TEREA flavours explained and HEETS vs TEREA.
TEREA line-ups differ from country to country, so a flavour name seen in Japan may not exist in the UK or elsewhere under the same label.

Which IQOS ILUMA model is which?
The ILUMA family has two generations. The first includes ILUMA PRIME, ILUMA and ILUMA ONE. The second, launched in Japan in March 2024, includes ILUMA i PRIME, ILUMA i and ILUMA i ONE. Models ending in ONE are single-piece devices; the others use a holder and a pocket charger.
The devices section explains the families, with separate pages on ILUMA PRIME, ILUMA i and ILUMA ONE.

How does an IQOS ILUMA session work?
You insert a stick, heating starts automatically or with a short button press, and two vibrations signal that the device is ready. IQOS support pages say one experience lasts up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs, whichever comes first, and the device vibrates again near the end.
The full sequence, including Pause Mode on the ILUMA i range, is in how to use IQOS ILUMA. Charging figures for each model are on the devices pages.

Who writes these pages and how are they checked?
The IQOS Hub editorial team writes and checks every page against official sources, such as iqos.com country sites, Philip Morris International, government travel advice and the Tobacco Control Laws database. Each page shows the date it was last checked, and we avoid figures we cannot verify.
We do not use Thai commercial websites as sources, and we do not compare health effects of any product. If an official source changes, the affected page is updated with a new date.
Where official pages disagree, for example on puff counts between two country sites, we quote the source we used and say so instead of picking a number silently.
