What is IQOS ILUMA ONE?
ILUMA ONE is a single-unit induction device for TEREA sticks. PMI launched it in Japan on 18 August 2021 as part of the first ILUMA line-up. Because the battery and heating chamber are in one body, it can be used several times in a row until the battery runs down.
The family overview is in the devices section.
Many readers first meet ILUMA ONE as a lighter alternative to the holder models, which is why it is one of the most searched IQOS model names in English.
The simpler design means fewer parts to keep track of, which is often why travellers mention it in forum posts. That convenience does not change any rule described on this page.

How many uses does ILUMA ONE give per charge?
IQOS Canada lists about 20 uses from a full charge. Holder-and-charger models also reach about 20 uses per charger, but their holder has to return to the charger between sessions, while ILUMA ONE can run consecutive sessions. Battery age also matters over time.
Real results depend on how the device is used and on battery age.
Unlike the ILUMA i holder models, ILUMA ONE has no screen to show remaining uses.
Sessions that are paused or ended early do not add extra uses to the battery count.

How long does ILUMA ONE take to charge?
About 90 minutes for a full charge, according to IQOS Canada. The device charges through its USB-C port, and IQOS guidance recommends keeping that port and the contacts clean so charging stays reliable. Charging time can vary with the adapter used.
Official troubleshooting steps for charging problems are listed in the sources.
If charging stops working, the troubleshooting pages listed in the sources are the official starting point.
Charging the device fully before a long day is simpler than managing a holder and charger separately.

How heavy is ILUMA ONE?
IQOS Canada lists ILUMA ONE at 68.5 g. For comparison, IQOS UK lists the standard ILUMA holder and charger together at 147 g and ILUMA PRIME at 171.5 g. The one-piece design is the lightest of the first generation. Weight differences come mainly from the charger.
We only quote weights from official pages.
Weight is one of the few specifications published consistently across IQOS country sites.
The lower weight is also why the one-piece model is often described as the most portable ILUMA.

How is ILUMA ONE different from ILUMA i ONE?
ILUMA i ONE is the 2024 one-piece model. IQOS UK lists FlexPuff and Autostart among its features. Neither one-piece model has a touch screen or Pause Mode, which are features of the holder-based ILUMA i models. Both use TEREA. The launch dates are three years apart.
The second generation is explained in IQOS ILUMA i explained.
Both one-piece models share the same basic layout: insert the stick at the top, charge through USB-C at the bottom.
For readers deciding which page to read next, the ILUMA i page covers the second generation's features in detail.

Does ILUMA ONE need cleaning?
Not inside. Like other ILUMA models it has no blade, and IQOS guidance says no internal cleaning is required. The manufacturer does recommend keeping the USB-C port and contacts free of dust and residue. Dust in the port is worth checking first.
Blade devices are different; see HEETS vs TEREA.
Because nothing enters the stick, residue does not build up inside the device the way it does on a blade.
Keeping the device in a case when it is carried also helps keep dust out of the port.

Which sticks does ILUMA ONE use?
SMARTCORE sticks such as TEREA, the same as every ILUMA model. Flavour depends on the stick, not the device. The manufacturer warns against using TEREA in older blade devices, and HEETS are not designed for ILUMA. The one-piece design does not change stick compatibility.
See the TEREA section.
TEREA Pearl sticks work in ILUMA ONE like any other TEREA variant.
HEETS and other sticks made for blade devices are not designed for any ILUMA model.

Is ILUMA ONE allowed in Thailand?
No. Official travel advice says possessing or using heat-not-burn devices in Thailand is illegal, with no exception for tourists. A small one-piece device is treated the same as any other model. The size of the device makes no legal difference.
These devices and sticks are illegal to possess or use in Thailand, according to official travel advice. See IQOS in Thailand.
Readers elsewhere should check local rules, which can include age limits and restrictions on where devices are used.
Official sources describe no difference between models when it comes to Thai rules.
