What makes an IQOS device a limited edition?
A limited edition is a standard IQOS device given a special design, such as a new colour or a pattern created with an artist, and released in limited numbers for a period of time. The IQOS Malaysia site uses the phrase available in limited quantity, meaning the edition is offered only until the batch runs out.
A special edition is therefore not a new device generation. The real generations are laid out on latest IQOS devices.
All current models are listed on IQOS devices.
Think of a limited edition as a new outer finish on a device that already exists, with the same parts and functions inside it.

Is a limited edition just a different colour from the regular model?
Essentially yes. IQOS UK says the REMIX edition offers the same technology and features as the standard ILUMA i with a distinctive special design. The Malaysian Neon page says all three Neon devices still use SmartCore Induction as usual. The difference is design and colour, not operating specifications.
Manuals for use, charging and compatible sticks therefore follow the standard model the edition is based on.
See how to use IQOS ILUMA and IQOS charging.
If a REMIX device needs a reset or a charging check, it follows the same steps as a standard ILUMA i, as described in IQOS not charging.

Which devices were part of the ILUMA Neon edition?
IQOS Malaysia announced ILUMA Neon Limited Edition in a neon purple colour, covering three devices: ILUMA PRIME, ILUMA and ILUMA ONE. It became available in Malaysia from 17 May 2024, and the page states that all three use SmartCore Induction exactly like the regular versions of those models.
Neon is therefore a special design for the first ILUMA generation, not for ILUMA i.
The base devices are covered on ILUMA PRIME and ILUMA ONE.
Neon was announced in Malaysia, so availability elsewhere cannot be assumed from that page alone. Other markets may have run different special designs in the same period.

What was the ILUMA WE Limited Edition?
IQOS Italy published ILUMA WE Limited Edition in July 2023, covering all three first-generation ILUMA devices, with a turquoise body and a multicoloured wave pattern. We could confirm it only on that Italian page, so we give no more detail than that page provides and do not assume it appeared elsewhere.
Many special editions are announced in only some countries. Not finding a name on one country's site does not prove it does not exist, and finding it once does not mean it exists everywhere.
The same caution applies to rules; see IQOS abroad.
WE is the earliest edition in our table.

What is the ILUMA i Seletti edition?
A page from IQOS Malaysia dated 23 October 2025 announced ILUMA i x Seletti Limited Edition for ILUMA i PRIME and ILUMA i, with Seletti accessories such as wraps, caps and rings, in limited quantity. A Seletti edition for the first ILUMA generation has not appeared in any official document we checked.
So a search for an ILUMA PRIME Seletti should be read as the ILUMA i edition, the only one we can confirm.
The base devices are on ILUMA i, and the naming trap between PRIME models is explained in the model comparison.
The accessories are the design element; the devices underneath are standard.

What does the 2026 ILUMA i REMIX edition include?
An IQOS UK article describes REMIX as a summer 2026 special edition, with designs on ILUMA i PRIME and ILUMA i, plus an ILUMA i ONE REMIX. It confirms that technology and features match the standard ILUMA i. In the UK, the article says the edition is available to IQOS CLUB members.
REMIX is the most recent special edition we can confirm as of our check date.
The one-piece device in this edition is covered on ILUMA i ONE, and the three ILUMA i versions are compared in our comparison table.
Its inclusion of a ONE model sets it apart from the Seletti edition.

Do limited editions need different sticks?
No. Because special editions use the same technology as the standard models, the ILUMA and ILUMA i editions take TEREA and the other SMARTCORE STICKS as usual. The outer design does not change the opening or the heating system, so nothing about compatible sticks is different from the regular device.
Every stick family is set out on IQOS stick types.
How TEREA flavour names work across countries is explained in TEREA flavours explained.
A special finish does not alter charging either, so the same cables and charging cases apply as for the standard model of that generation. Neon devices, for example, behave like any first-generation ILUMA.

How can I check that a device really is a limited edition?
Match the edition name and device model against the official site of the country that announced it, such as Neon in Malaysia or REMIX in the UK, because special editions are announced country by country. If no official document names the edition, treat it as unconfirmed. How the device works can be checked as for the standard model.
The legal position in Thailand is identical for special and standard devices: official travel advice says possession or use of heat-not-burn devices there is illegal.
Details are on is IQOS legal in Thailand.
Unconfirmed names seen online deserve the same caution as any other unverified claim.
